Kaspersky Warns of AI-Driven Threats in Retail Cybersecurity for 2026
Kaspersky’s 2025 Security Bulletin highlights escalating cyber threats in the retail and e-commerce sector, with predictions for AI-driven challenges in 2026. Key 2025 figures show 14.41% of retail users facing web threats and 22.20% encountering on-device threats. Ransomware hit 8.25% of companies, with a 152% rise in unique B2B detections compared to 2023, driven by the Dcryptor trojan family.
Phishing remained rampant, with Kaspersky blocking 6.7 million attacks targeting online stores (50.58%), payment systems, and delivery services. Incidents included data-stealing malware in legitimate food delivery apps. Looking ahead to 2026, experts anticipate AI reshaping shopping experiences while raising privacy concerns and enabling more sophisticated attacks. The report urges robust protections like advanced endpoint solutions and managed detection services to safeguard users and businesses.
