Kelantan Prioritises Islamic Education, Funds 93 YIK Schools Fully

BANGI – The Kelantan government continues to prioritise education as the foundation of its development agenda, with 93 Yayasan Islam Kelantan (YIK) schools fully funded by the state. Menteri Besar Dato’ Panglima Perang Ustaz Mohd Nassuruddin Daud said the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to providing quality Islamic-based education for all Kelantanese children.

Speaking at the Kelantan Premier Student Awards 2025, he emphasised that education is key to shaping a learned and morally upright society. Eleven outstanding students from various higher learning institutions were recognised for excellence in academics, leadership, and community service. He reminded students that academic achievement is a form of filial piety and service to the state. Muhammad Medina Munawwarahmathuddin Al-Haq Mohamed from UniSZA received the top student award, while the Kelantan Students Association of USAS (PERMAKU) was named Best State Student Association.
