Kenneth Chan Steers Webull Malaysia Toward Broader Retail Investing Access
Webull Malaysia CEO Kenneth Chan is positioning the digital brokerage to play a larger role in expanding retail investor participation across the country. Drawing on 17 years of experience spanning derivatives trading, central banking, and market development at Bursa Malaysia, Kenneth has focused on addressing long-standing barriers that limit everyday investor access.
Since Webull’s entry into Malaysia two years ago, his leadership has prioritised localisation, including Bahasa Malaysia support, Islamic banking options, and Shariah-compliant stock filters. Cost accessibility has also been a key focus, with initiatives such as zero-commission trading for Bursa Malaysia stocks and US fractional shares starting from USD1.
Under Kenneth’s direction, Webull Malaysia has strengthened investor education through on-ground engagement at regulatory events and expanded digital learning via its platform and social channels. The company was recently recognised as Best Retail Investment App at the PC.com Awards 2025.
Looking ahead, Kenneth plans to expand multi-asset offerings and introduce features such as Regular Savings Plans and Dividend Reinvestment Plans, aligning with Malaysia’s growing retail investment ecosystem.
