KiN Hotel Group enters Malaysia through the takeover of Hotel Maya Kuala Lumpur, bringing its technology-led essential luxury concept and positioning Kuala Lumpur as a regional growth hub.
Singapore-based KiN Hotel Group has officially expanded into Malaysia, marking a major step in its Southeast Asian growth strategy with the takeover and repositioning of Hotel Maya Kuala Lumpur.
The move establishes Kuala Lumpur as KiN’s first strategic market outside Vietnam, where the hospitality group has built a portfolio of more than 14 properties since 2023. The company aims to introduce its technology-driven “essential luxury” concept, combining premium hospitality, design-focused experiences, and seamless digital integration.
Located in the KLCC district, Hotel Maya Kuala Lumpur will be transformed into a lifestyle-oriented destination that blends modern luxury with local cultural identity. The redevelopment will incorporate Malaysian-inspired architecture, interiors, craftsmanship, culinary offerings, and community-focused experiences.
According to Benny Ong, Co-Founder and Group Chief Business Officer of KiN Group, Malaysia serves as a long-term regional platform where hospitality, technology, lifestyle, and real estate value creation increasingly intersect. He said Kuala Lumpur’s strong connectivity, infrastructure, and growing tourism appeal make it an ideal location for the group’s next phase of expansion.
Rather than pursuing greenfield developments, KiN is focusing on operational hospitality assets to accelerate market entry and maintain business continuity. The strategy allows the company to adapt properties more quickly to changing traveller preferences while creating hospitality experiences that reflect how modern Asian travellers live, connect, and explore.
