New: KLCC Group Launches Sustainability September Campaign

KLCC Group, led by KLCC (Holdings) Sdn Bhd, has launched its “Sustainability September” campaign, showcasing its commitment to eco-conscious practices and responsible growth in Kuala Lumpur’s urban landscape. This initiative is conducted in collaboration with the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre Business Events Alliance (KLCBEA) and aims to promote interconnected sustainability and ESG-related activities.

“Sustainability September” aligns with KLCC Group’s mission to establish the KLCC Precinct as Malaysia’s first Sustainability Development Goal Hub, supporting the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals and the 12th Malaysian Plan for Advancing Sustainability. The goal is to position the KLCC Precinct as a sustainable destination for all communities, including business travelers, while encouraging responsible practices in all aspects of visitor experiences.

Datuk Md. Shah Mahmood, Group Chief Executive Officer of KLCC (Holdings) Sdn Bhd, inaugurated the campaign with the “Run for a Cause” fundraising event, benefiting the National Kidney Foundation (NKF). The event included a fun run in KLCC Park and kidney health screenings for participants.

“Sustainable September” includes diverse activities such as Bake for Charity, used cooking oil collection drives, mental health and well-being education sessions for employees, and blood donation drives. The hotels within the KLCC Group will offer a specially curated Restaurant Week promotion featuring sustainable and healthy food options.

The campaign will conclude with a Sustainability Explorers Hunt, an interactive competition aimed at raising awareness of KLCC Precinct’s green initiatives.

Datuk Md. Shah emphasized, “Sustainability September is just one of the many programs we have created throughout the year, demonstrating our collective commitment to transform KLCC Precinct into a sustainable business and leisure destination.”

He added, “At KLCC Group, sustainability isn’t just a goal; It serves as the dynamic force in driving our decisions moving forward. Our Sustainable September plays a vital role in our commitment to advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals and enriching the lives of our community.”
