Kumpulan Modal Perdana (KMP), under MOSTI, has partnered with Edvance to tackle Malaysia’s tech talent shortage. The collaboration aims to equip startups with skilled professionals, addressing concerns that 64% of organisations face moderate to severe skills gaps, while 97% plan to integrate AI by 2028. Edvance, known for delivering successful workforce development programmes with Khazanah, MDEC, MOHE, and Cyberport Hong Kong, will leverage its brands TalentLabs and Silicon School to provide upskilling, job matching, and on-the-job training focused on technology and semiconductor roles. KMP CEO Yarham Yunus said the move will accelerate startup growth and support Malaysia’s goal to become a global innovation hub. Edvance Group CEO Razin Rozman stressed the urgency of building a future-ready workforce as 70% of skills for today’s jobs will change by 2030.
