KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 19 — Malaysia and India hold strong potential for collaboration in the semiconductor industry, said Deputy Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Liew Chin Tong.
He said both nations have complementary ecosystems, making the semiconductor sector a promising area for partnership. “Malaysia wants to be part of India’s semiconductor story,” Liew said during the India-Asean Strategic Dialogue, noting that Indian High Commissioner BN Reddy is working toward a memorandum of cooperation.
Liew also urged Asean to engage India at both national and state levels, highlighting India’s vast population diversity. He added that Asean-India relations must focus on peace, human development, and technology growth rather than viewing global dynamics through a bipolar lens.
