Malaysia Reaffirms US$19 Billion Boeing Deal to Boost Trade, Aviation Sector
Malaysia has reaffirmed its commitment to purchase 26 Boeing aircraft in two phases, a deal estimated at nearly US$19 billion, as part of ongoing commercial agreements with the United States. Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry Tengku Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz said the purchase reinforces bilateral trade and aerospace cooperation.
The first phase covers 13 aircraft worth US$9.5 billion, with a second batch of 13 aircraft of similar value planned. Zafrul emphasized that these commercial commitments aim to bring mutual benefits and boost Malaysia’s aviation and MRO (maintenance, repair and overhaul) sectors.
