ManageEngine has announced major enhancements to AD360, its identity and access management (IAM) platform, introducing identity risk exposure management and local user multi-factor authentication (MFA) features. These updates empower enterprises to detect privilege escalation risks, secure unmanaged local accounts, and align with Zero Trust security principles.
The identity risk exposure management feature uses graph-based analysis to map potential attack paths within Active Directory (AD), highlighting risky privilege configurations and recommending remediation steps in real time. Meanwhile, local user MFA extends adaptive MFA to unmanaged accounts on non-domain-joined servers, DMZ assets, and test environments, preventing credential abuse.
The 2025 Verizon Data Breach Investigations Report shows credential abuse remains the initial access vector in 22% of breaches, underscoring the importance of these enhancements.
Manikandan Thangaraj, VP of ManageEngine, said:
“With this release, AD360 moves beyond traditional IAM by embedding identity threat defenses into core operations. We’re helping customers make IAM the first line of defense, not just a check box.”
These capabilities support Zero Trust architecture under NIST SP 800-207 and aid compliance with PCI DSS v4.0, SOX, HIPAA, and GDPR standards.
