Maxim marked Kaamatan and Gawai with free rides and exclusive postcards, helping festivalgoers travel conveniently while promoting local artists and cultural traditions across East Malaysia.
Maxim E-hailing Malaysia celebrated the Kaamatan and Gawai festivals with a special campaign that combined transportation services with cultural appreciation across East Malaysia. Running from 25 May to 4 June 2026, the initiative provided thousands of residents and visitors with free rides from major festival venues in Sabah and Sarawak.
In Sabah, Maxim offered complimentary transfers from key events, including the Unduk Ngadau competition at KDCA Hall in Kota Kinabalu, the Fun Fair at Borneo Fun Park in Sandakan, and LikeFest 2026 in Tawau. Meanwhile, specially decorated Gawai-themed vehicles operated in Kuching, Miri, and Bintulu, giving passengers free rides throughout the festive period.
The campaign also highlighted local artistic talent through a collaboration with artists from Sabah and Sarawak. Maxim released a limited-edition postcard collection inspired by the traditions, symbols, and cultural heritage of Kaamatan and Gawai. The postcards were distributed free of charge to passengers travelling in the festive vehicles.
According to Mohd Hazwan Musley, Director of Maxim E-hailing Malaysia, the initiative was designed to improve mobility while supporting local culture. He noted that the festivals represent the identity and community spirit of Sabah and Sarawak, making it important for the company to contribute beyond transportation services.
The campaign successfully distributed all postcard editions and demonstrated how mobility services can help preserve and promote local cultural traditions.
