Construction of the Mutiara Line Light Rail Transit (LRT) in Penang is set to begin in Q4 2026, according to MRT Corp CEO Datuk Mohd Zarif Hashim. Prior to construction, contractors will conduct a new soil investigation along the LRT alignment, despite a previous study in 2018, to finalize the design based on current soil conditions.
