NRES Slashes Mineral Licence Approval Time to 7 Days

The Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Ministry (NRES), via the National Minerals and Geoscience Department (JMG), has slashed the approval time for the Mineral Licence (Without Storage Premises) from 61 days to seven days under its Bureaucratic Red Tape Reform (RKB) project. This reform, recognized on April 10, is expected to reduce compliance costs for mineral trading companies by 20%, generating RM1.3 million annually for the government. It aligns with the Public Service Reform Agenda 2024-2030 and Malaysia Madani vision, aiming to enhance efficiency, boost trade, and promote sustainable mineral exports.
