Ringgit Weakened in Feb
KUALA LUMPUR, April 3 2025 – The ringgit strengthened in March 2025, appreciating by 0.6% against the US dollar, closing at USDMYR 4.434, down from 4.463 in February.
This marks its third consecutive month of gains, defying volatility in US markets. The US dollar index weakened by 3.2% month-on-month to 104.21, averaging 104.13, a 3.0% drop from February’s 107.32.
Analysts forecast the ringgit’s upward trend to persist throughout 2025, targeting an average rate of RM4.23, compared to 2024’s RM4.56. Experts attribute this to narrowing interest rate gaps and Malaysia’s solid economic fundamentals. – MIDF
