RM7.6b Sarawak-Sabah Link Road Phase 2 Launched in Limbang
LIMBANG – Phase 2 of the Sarawak-Sabah Link Road (SSLR) has been launched in Nanga Medamit, with the 335-kilometre project expected to be completed by 2029 at an estimated cost of RM7.6 billion.
The project will connect Mulu, Nanga Medamit (Limbang), Long Luping (Lawas) and Ba’kelalan, improving mobility and accessibility for residents in northern Sarawak. It will include the construction of roads, bridges, flyovers, street lighting, and drainage systems.
Phase 2 follows SSLR Phase 1, which links Lawas to Long Luping. Initiated in 2021, Phase 1 has already achieved 57.6% progress.
Premier of Sarawak Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, and Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi were present at the ceremony.
Officials highlighted that the project is crucial to overcoming the geographical challenges of the region while boosting connectivity and long-term development.
