Sabah Pakatan Harapan has outlined eight commitments it says will guide its role in government, with the fulfilment of the Malaysia Agreement 1963 as the core priority. Sabah PKR chief Mustapha Sakmud said this includes securing the state’s 40% net revenue entitlement through negotiations. With these funds, the coalition plans to improve water and electricity supply, repair roads, expand welfare aid, build affordable housing and provide free higher education for eligible students.
Sabah PH also proposes a sovereign wealth future fund, a special select committee to strengthen accountability and administrative reforms. Other commitments focus on job creation with qualification-matched salaries, youth allowances, high-value economic development and women’s empowerment. The coalition says these moves adopt a practical “back to basics” approach. Sabah DAP chairman Phoong Jin Zhe said the commitments will form the basis of negotiations if a hung assembly occurs after Nov 29.
