SAS AI Navigator helps organisations govern AI use cases, manage compliance risks, inventory AI assets, and support responsible innovation as enterprise AI adoption accelerates globally.
SAS has introduced SAS AI Navigator, a new Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform designed to help organisations manage the growing complexity of artificial intelligence deployments while maintaining strong governance and compliance standards.
The solution arrives as businesses increasingly adopt AI tools, large language models (LLMs) and AI agents to improve productivity and streamline operations. However, rapid implementation has also raised concerns about oversight, transparency and the growing use of unauthorised AI systems within organisations.
According to SAS, AI Navigator enables companies to create a comprehensive inventory of AI use cases and align them with internal policies, regulatory requirements and governance frameworks. The platform provides a unified view of AI assets, including internally developed models, third-party solutions, open-source models and AI agents.
Reggie Townsend, Vice President of AI Ethics, Governance and Social Impact at SAS, said AI governance should be viewed as a strategic business enabler rather than merely a compliance requirement.
He noted that structured governance allows organisations to innovate with confidence while reducing risks associated with shadow AI and unregulated deployments.
Scheduled for availability in the third quarter of 2026 through Microsoft Azure Marketplace, the platform is designed to govern not only AI models and agents but also the business use cases they support. This approach allows organisations to apply policies directly to customer-facing applications and operational workflows.
SAS said the launch builds on its five decades of experience in responsible technology deployment. The company recently received recognition from Chartis Research, which named SAS a category leader in AI governance solutions for its extensive capabilities in model risk management, explainability, bias detection and monitoring.
The company believes strong AI governance is essential for building trust among customers, regulators and internal stakeholders. By combining governance, risk management and compliance capabilities into a single platform, SAS aims to help organisations accelerate AI innovation while maintaining accountability, transparency and regulatory readiness in an increasingly AI-driven business environment.
