Amirudin Shari MB of Selangor
PETALING JAYA, Nov 10 — Selangor has closed the door on further negotiations with 19 landowners in Kampung Jawa, Klang, affected by the West Coast Expressway (WCE) project, affirming that compensation assessments were made fairly by independent arbitrators.
Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari said all legal processes under the Land Acquisition Act 1960 had been completed, and the state would not revisit the compensation terms or the two-week grace period granted for residents to vacate. He stressed that the WCE project holds major economic significance and must proceed as planned.
Authorities confirmed that affected residents have now been given seven days to move out, with temporary housing provided under the Selangor Housing and Property Board’s SMART Sewa Scheme.
Highway concessionaire WCE Sdn Bhd will commence site clean-up and reconstruction from November 10, following more than 20 months of delay in Section 3 due to land disputes.
The 233km expressway, linking Banting in Selangor to Taiping in Perak, is more than 90% complete and scheduled for full completion in 2027.
