Singapore Launches First Fully Driverless Shuttle Bus at Sentosa

Singapore has approved its first fully driverless shuttle bus service at Resorts World Sentosa (RWS), operated by WeRide’s Robobus without a safety officer on board. This milestone follows a year of rigorous testing, during which the Robobus transported tens of thousands of passengers safely.

Equipped with advanced sensors and 360-degree vision, it operates a fixed 12-minute loop within RWS. Acting Transport Minister Jeffrey Siow said Singapore expects broader AV deployment within five years, including trials in Punggol by late 2025.

“During its trial period, it transported tens of thousands of passengers and completed thousands of autonomous trips with zero incidents, WeRide said.

WeRide, which also tests self-driving sweepers locally, aims to strengthen collaborations to enhance productivity and transport connectivity.
