Singapore Semiconductor sector boost
Singapore has launched its first gallium nitride (GaN) fabrication facility, the National Semiconductor Translation and Innovation Centre for Gallium Nitride (NSTIC GaN), to strengthen its semiconductor capabilities.
The centre will provide research, development, and wafer fabrication services for applications from consumer electronics to satellite communications. It houses both 6-inch GaN on silicon carbide and 8-inch GaN on silicon fabrication lines, positioning Singapore among a few global hubs with such advanced capabilities. The facility will start commercial foundry services by mid-2026, supporting startups and multinationals while building a skilled talent pipeline for future GaN technologies.
