Taiwan Robotics Industry to Tap Global NT$4.8 Trillion Market
Taiwan is accelerating efforts to strengthen its robotics industry as the global market is projected to exceed NT$4.8 trillion (US$150 billion) by 2030. National Science and Technology Council Minister Wu Cheng-wen said Taiwan’s robust supply chain covers key areas such as motion components, AI computing, power management, and system integration. The government has launched several initiatives, including a 52-hectare robotics hub in Tainan and the formation of an industry alliance with over 50 companies.
Tech leaders like Asus are integrating AI and robotics technologies through partnerships with Nvidia and Google, leveraging Taiwan’s semiconductor strengths. The Industrial Technology Research Institute noted that while Taiwan is advancing in humanoid robot development, improvements in sensor integration and control software are still needed. The industrial robotic arm market is also booming, expected to reach NT$941.76 billion by 2029.
