Thai Police Arrest, Huang, A Chinese Scam Suspect Using Fake Mexican Passport
Thai immigration officers arrested 44-year-old Chinese fugitive Huang at Suvarnabhumi Airport on Tuesday evening as he attempted to board an international flight using a forged Mexican passport under the name “Gol,” despite possessing a valid Thailand Privilege Visa. A routine check uncovered an Interpol Red Notice linking him to a major international scam network.
After fleeing China in 2020 via a remote Yunnan border into Myanmar, Huang allegedly engaged with a criminal network between 2022 and 2024 to establish a large-scale scam operation in the New Taichang Park complex in Kyaukhat, Myawaddy—directly opposite Thailand’s Phop Phra district in Tak province.
The gang created fake investment platforms promoted on social media, posing as “wealthy single businessmen” to build trust. They delivered initial high returns before shutting down the system, absconding with funds and blocking victims.
Chinese investigators report over 500 victims lost approximately 200 million yuan (about 1 billion baht or RM116 million). Huang faces charges in Thailand for using a forged passport, while authorities coordinate with China on potential extradition.
