Trans-Cab and Geolah Secure Full Ride-Hailing Licences in Singapore
SINGAPORE, Dec 23, 2025 – The Land Transport Authority (LTA) has awarded full three-year ride-hailing service operator licences to Trans-Cab and Geolah, valid until December 31, 2027. The operators, previously on one-year provisional permits from January 2025, join Grab, Gojek, CDG Zig, Ryde, and Tada as fully licensed providers.
LTA confirmed both met regulatory standards for safety and service over the past year. Trans-Cab, with Singapore’s third-largest taxi fleet (1,948 vehicles), now includes 2,200 taxi and 300 private-hire drivers on its app. Geolah reports 5,200 approved drivers and plans promotions, including zero commissions for drivers in 2026.
Transport economist Walter Theseira expects minimal impact on fares or driver supply, but notes Trans-Cab’s established fleet could improve ride matching reliability. As of September, 61,856 private-hire cars are available for ride-hailing services.
