Trump Sues Wall Street Journal for US$10 Billion Over Epstein Report

Former US President Donald Trump filed a US$10 billion defamation lawsuit against the Wall Street Journal, its parent company Dow Jones, News Corp, Rupert Murdoch, and two reporters. The suit, filed in Florida, alleges a 2003 report falsely claimed Trump sent Jeffrey Epstein a sexually suggestive birthday greeting referencing shared secrets, causing him severe financial and reputational harm. Trump called the WSJ a “pile of garbage” and said he looks forward to Murdoch testifying. Dow Jones stated it will “vigorously defend” its reporting. Epstein, a convicted sex offender, died by suicide in 2019, sparking conspiracy theories about his powerful connections.
