Malaysia, Vietnam, Singapore Ink Deal for Renewable Energy Export
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim witnessed the signing of a joint development agreement on May 26, 2025, for exporting renewable energy from Vietnam to Malaysia and Singapore via an undersea cable, supported by PETRONAS and Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB). Deputy Prime Minister Fadillah Yusof said the agreement, part of the ASEAN Power Grid (APG), marks the start of detailed technical and business model discussions. PETRONAS and TNB leaders hailed it as a milestone, with TNB planning a feasibility study to advance the project by the October ASEAN Energy Ministers meeting.
