AWS Exabytes Expand Opportunities

Malaysia’s push to strengthen its digital economy received a boost as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Exabytes and Forward College celebrated the graduation of the first cohort under their RM4.3 million cloud and AI talent initiative. The inaugural programme saw 108 learners complete industry-focused training designed to prepare Malaysians for careers in high-demand technology fields.

Targeted at individuals who are unemployed, underemployed or seeking a career transition, the initiative offers a structured pathway that combines cloud skills training, professional certification opportunities, career coaching and hiring support. The programme aims to equip participants with practical, industry-recognised capabilities that improve employability in Malaysia’s expanding digital sector.

The initiative has already produced encouraging outcomes, with more than 15% of graduates securing interviews or employment opportunities before completing the programme.

One participant, a former IT Executive, successfully transitioned into a Network Engineer position, highlighting how cloud expertise can open doors to more specialised and sought-after technology roles while supporting the country’s growing digital workforce.
