Cabinet to Review E-Invoicing After BN Concerns: Zahid

JOHOR POLLS | The federal government has agreed to review the implementation of Malaysia’s e-invoicing system following concerns raised by Barisan Nasional (BN) over its impact on businesses and the cost of living, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said.

E-Invoicing

Zahid said the matter was discussed at the Cabinet meeting earlier in the day, where BN’s proposal received the support of all ministers.

Malaysia introduced e-invoicing as part of efforts by the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) to improve tax compliance, reduce leakages and digitalise business transactions. However, businesses, particularly small and medium enterprises, have expressed concerns over compliance costs and implementation readiness.
