Tetra Pak has unveiled its Trendipedia 2023 report, highlighting key consumer trends in the food and beverage industry. The annual global report examines evolving consumer behavior, offering insights and opportunities for businesses.

In response to changing times, Tetra Pak emphasizes the importance of innovation and collaboration to address industry challenges. The report provides valuable insights to help businesses enhance their operations and performance.



According to the report, notable trends in Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, and Indonesia include “Flexi-shopping,” where consumers prioritize health and sustainability, even amid rising inflation.

Tetra Pak Banks on Innovation

“The world is always evolving, and we continue to be faced with emerging new trends. At Tetra Pak, we believe innovation is the answer, and through a collaborative approach, we gather customers, industry partners and experts, to tackle the most challenging issues in our industry,” says John Jose, Marketing Director of Tetra Pak Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, and Indonesia.

Ready-to-drink beverages are popular in this category due to their convenience and health-conscious options. The “In Control” trend reflects how consumers use their eating and drinking habits to exert control over their lives.

Plant-based options have gained traction as consumers seek healthier choices, with the global plant-based beverage category predicted to grow by 1.9% by 2024. The “Eatertainment” trend highlights consumers’ desire for entertainment and exploration of new flavors, recipes, and trends, often through online platforms and social media.



Brands are encouraged to engage with consumers on popular entertainment platforms and leverage social influencers to promote the latest food trends. The report also covers additional trends such as “Life Hacks,” “Replenish and Repair,” “Climatarianism,” “Green Clarity,” “Un-masking Identities,” and “Evolving Spaces.” Tetra Pak will share the Trendipedia report with its customers to help them align with evolving consumer trends.
