DHL CEO Calls Asia the Company’s “Second Home” Amid Global Trade Shifts

SINGAPORE — German logistics giant DHL views Asia as its “second home,” according to chief executive Tobias Meyer, who highlighted to Channel News Asia the region’s growing importance amid global trade disruptions.

Meyer said DHL feels “very much at home” across Asia, from China to Australia, citing the region’s rapid economic development and expanding manufacturing base. He noted that Southeast Asia, particularly Malaysia and Singapore, has become a vital logistics hub for the company’s operations, while India — through DHL’s Blue Dart subsidiary — stands as a key growth pillar.

While acknowledging challenges from US trade policies and currency fluctuations, Meyer said DHL continues to strengthen its Asian network through targeted investments and technology-driven logistics. The company’s regional strategy reflects its confidence in Asia’s role as a long-term driver of global supply chains and e-commerce growth.
