KUALA LUMPUR — Transport Minister Anthony Loke has urged motorists nationwide to settle their outstanding Road Transport Department (JPJ) summonses before the ongoing 50% discount offer ends on December 30.
As of now, more than 5.5 million JPJ summonses remain unpaid, with 1.3 million issued under the Automated Awareness Safety System (AWAS) and 3.68 million under JPJP. Loke warned that beginning January 1, 2026, failure to clear outstanding summonses could result in court action and blacklisting of vehicle and driving licences.
He explained that starting next year, there will be no more blanket discounts. Instead, a structured compound rate will apply. Offenders who settle their summonses within 15 days will pay 50% of the compounded amount, while those who delay payment beyond 30 days must pay the full amount.

“Both PDMM and JPJ have provided a grace period for the public to settle all outstanding summonses and compounds,” Loke said. “This two-month period from November 1 to December 30 is your final opportunity to enjoy the 50% discount.”
Loke emphasized that the initiative aims to encourage compliance while promoting safer and more disciplined road use.
“Let us work together to ensure more efficient enforcement for the safety and order of our roads,” he said, urging all road users to act promptly before the year-end deadline.
