Anwar’s Former Aide Demands Retraction from CNA Over NexG "Takeover" Report
Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak, the former political aide to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, has initiated legal action against Channel News Asia (CNA). The move follows a report alleging that Farhash attempted to “take control” of NexG Bhd, a company heavily involved in billions of ringgit worth of government contracts. The article further claimed that the Prime Minister personally intervened, ordering Farhash to cease his efforts to allow businessman Ishak Ismail to lead the firm.
Farhash has vehemently denied these allegations, describing them as “not true” and clarifying that he received no such directive from the Prime Minister. His legal team has demanded a full retraction and a halt to the article’s dissemination, warning of a lawsuit if CNA fails to comply within two days. The controversy emerges amid a mass resignation of six NexG board members and highlights the complex corporate crossholdings involving MMAG Holdings, where Farhash maintains a significant stake.
