Malaysian Film Industry Surpasses 2024 Box Office Earnings
KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian film industry recorded RM162.89 million in box office revenue by June 30, surpassing last year’s RM125.28 million. Deputy Communications Minister Teo Nie Ching said 39 feature films contributed to this achievement. Ejen Ali The Movie 2 was a standout, earning RM55.2 million locally and attracting 200,000 Indonesian viewers in its first week. Teo announced that the 34th Malaysian Film Festival (FFM34) will feature over 60 films across 30 categories, with a new Best Action and Stunt Award. FFM34, themed “Karya Kreatif, Sinema Dinamik,” will take place on November 8 at Angkasapuri Kota Media.
