ICBS 2024
The upcoming International Café & Beverage Show (ICBS) in Kuala Lumpur, scheduled for May 23 to 25, 2024, marks its return following a successful 2023 edition. Hosted by Montgomery Asia, the 2024 event has expanded by 60% to accommodate a larger influx of exhibitors and attendees.
From featuring 250 brands across seven countries last year, ICBS 2024 anticipates a surge, with over 450 brands represented by 160 exhibitors. The show aims to draw in 12,000 visitors, with the first two days dedicated to trade visitors and the last day welcoming both trade and general attendees.
ICBS showcases specialty coffee, F&B products, café culture, and technological innovations. It’s also the stage for the Malaysia National Coffee Championship, where Malaysian baristas compete for recognition across various categories, with winners advancing to the 2024 World Coffee Championships.
Sponsors such as Starbucks and Dutch Lady Professional lend support to MNCC. The ‘Roasters Pavilion’ returns, offering smaller coffee roasters a cost-effective platform, while the event’s educational aspect expands with additional barista training and conferences.
Christopher McCuin, Managing Director of Montgomery Asia, expresses enthusiasm for the show’s progression, while Kelvin Ngow Wai Hng, President of MSCA, highlights ICBS’s pivotal role in nurturing Malaysia’s coffee industry. Key partnerships span various coffee associations across ASEAN nations.
ICBS 2024 will take place at Halls 1 & 2 in the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, with the final day open to the public.
“I would like to thank the Malaysian Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC), Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB), and Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) for their support for ICBS 2024.
“Their support was vital to the organisation of this event, and we are looking forward to welcoming them, the Malaysian café and coffee industry and coffee enthusiasts to the show”, express Christopher McCuin, Managing Director of Montgomery Asia, the show organiser.
