MACC Investigating Semiconductor Deal With Global Chip Firm

Malaysia’s anti-corruption agency has launched an investigation into a government semiconductor agreement involving British chip design company Arm Holdings. The probe centres on a RM1.1 billion deal aimed at strengthening Malaysia’s semiconductor sector.

Officials from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission are reviewing potential irregularities and possible corruption linked to the deal. Authorities are examining whether proper procedures were followed during negotiations and approval stages.

The agreement was intended to boost Malaysia’s role in the global semiconductor supply chain, which has become increasingly important due to rising demand for advanced chips.
