Between 2024 and May 2025, Malaysia barred and deported 25,568 foreign nationals for failing to meet entry requirements. The highest numbers were from India (6,755), Bangladesh (4,867), Pakistan (4,757), Indonesia (2,486), Myanmar (1,126), Vietnam (117), and others (4,718), all listed under Not To Land (NTL). The Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) cited reasons such as inability to prove the purpose of visit, insufficient funds, lack of return tickets, use of fake documents, and questionable accommodation details.
