Malaysian Economy: Positive Momentum but Caution Advised
The Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) blocked 279 foreigners from Bangladesh, Pakistan, and India from entering the country via KLIA on June 2—the highest number of Not-To-Land (NTL) cases recorded since AKPS was formed in 2023. All individuals were deported immediately after documentation and inspection. AKPS said the attempt reflects a rising trend of illegal entry during peak travel periods, with some exploiting busy conditions to bypass checks. The agency reaffirmed its commitment to strict monitoring and border control to protect Malaysia’s security and ensure only eligible visitors are allowed entry.
