Malaysia is expanding its palm-based product exports to Japan, focusing on specialty fats, tocotrienols, red palm oil, and biomass-based fibreboard, as announced by MITI. At Expo 2025 Osaka, the Ministry of Plantation and Commodities showcased MSPO 2.0, a strengthened certification scheme reinforcing Malaysia’s leadership in sustainable agriculture. Minister Johari Abdul Ghani emphasized embedding sustainability across the commodity sector. Five MoUs were signed to advance sustainable palm, pepper, kenaf, and cacao exports. A collaboration with AEON Japan boosts MSPO-certified product visibility. With 86% of palm oil MSPO-certified, Malaysia targets 95% by 2025, supported by a RM50 million budget allocation.
