Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd (Perodua) has achieved a major milestone, producing 5.5 million vehicles since its establishment 32 years ago. The 5.5 millionth unit, a Bezza, remains the company’s best-selling model for two consecutive years. Reports say the company is preparing for the future through investments in electric vehicles (EVs) and related infrastructure. Collaborating with Tenaga Nasional, Telekom Malaysia, and Petronas, Perodua aims to establish a comprehensive Malaysian EV ecosystem. Since 1993, the automaker has purchased RM116.1 billion from local vendors and plans RM10.8 billion in procurement this year.
