Petronas Chemicals Reports RM1.08b Loss in 2Q 2025
Petronas Chemicals Group Bhd (PCG) posted a net loss of RM1.08 billion in 2Q 2025, compared to a net profit of RM777 million a year earlier, due to lower Ebitda, asset impairments at Perstorp Holding AB, and foreign exchange losses.
Revenue fell 17% to RM6.44 billion on weaker sales volumes, lower prices, and a stronger ringgit. Plant utilisation dropped to 77% from 89% amid feedstock disruptions and higher maintenance. For the first half, PCG reported a RM1.10 billion net loss.
CEO Mazuin Ismail cited internal shutdowns and external supply issues but expects resilience ahead. A three-sen interim dividend will be paid on Sept 10.
