PROTON Unveils All-New Saga: A Milestone of Malaysian Engineering Excellence

TANJONG MALIM, 3 Nov 2025 – PROTON today showcased the All-New Saga to the media, marking a historic milestone as the first model fully designed, engineered, and validated by Malaysian talent. Developed on the brand’s new Advanced Modular Architecture (AMA), the sedan introduces a cutting-edge electronic system that supports intelligent connectivity and future autonomous features.

The new Saga, carrying the tagline “Intelligence That Thrills”, features 35 all-new innovations, offering class-leading safety, refinement, and technology in the A-segment. Powered by the new i-GT 1.5L engine with CVT, it delivers 4.9L/100 km fuel efficiency under the Malaysia Driving Cycle.

Deputy CEO Zhang Qiang said the model reflects PROTON’s evolution “from a national carmaker to a global innovator,” showcasing Malaysia’s growing engineering capabilities within the Geely Group ecosystem and reinforcing the nation’s position as a potential regional automotive hub.
