Ringgit edged higher against US dollar

KUALA LUMPUR: The ringgit edged higher against the US dollar to 4.4920/4990 this morning, following yesterday’s close. c, with investors focusing on Initial Jobless Claims to anticipate Federal Reserve actions.

The US Dollar Index rose, while the two-year US Treasury yield fell. The ringgit weakened against major currencies like the yen and euro but strengthened against the British pound.

It also traded mixed against Asean currencies, falling against the Singapore dollar and Thai baht but rising against the Indonesian rupiah and Philippine peso.
