Royalton Coating appointed Kinara Energy as its Sabah partner to expand local coating supply, technical services and workforce development, supporting industrial growth and corrosion protection standards.
Royalton Coating Sdn. Bhd. has officially appointed Kinara Energy Sdn. Bhd. as its strategic partner in Sabah, marking a significant step toward strengthening corrosion protection capabilities across the state’s key industrial sectors.
The partnership was formalised in the presence of Sabah Minister of Industrial Development, Entrepreneurship and Transport and Deputy Chief Minister III, Datuk Ewon Benedick. Under the agreement, Kinara Energy will serve as Royalton’s representative for Sabah and the wider Borneo region, overseeing market development, government engagement, logistics and compliance with local content requirements.
Royalton Managing Director Adrian Lim said Sabah remains an important growth market within Malaysia’s oil and gas industry, adding that the partnership reflects the company’s long-term commitment to delivering certified protective coating solutions supported by local expertise.
The collaboration aims to improve access to industrial protective coatings for offshore platforms, pipelines, marine vessels, jetty structures and other critical infrastructure exposed to harsh environmental conditions. Royalton’s coating technologies, including underwater and wet-surface tolerant epoxy systems, will be supported through a locally managed supply and technical services platform.
Beyond product supply, both companies have committed to workforce development initiatives that will train Sabahan technicians and help them achieve internationally recognised coating inspection and application certifications, supporting local talent development and strengthening Sabah’s industrial ecosystem.
