Singapore Unveils Business Grant to Tackle Tariff Challenges
Singapore will introduce a Business Adaptation Grant by October 2025 to help companies navigate the changing global tariff landscape. Manpower Minister Tan See Leng said the grant, capped at S$100,000 per cosmpany, will offer greater support to SMEs, noting they “account for about two-thirds of our workforce in Singapore.” The grant will fund advisory services for trade compliance, supply chain optimisation, and market diversification. Deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong warned that recent US tariffs will “prolong uncertainty, volatility, and challenges for global economies” and urged continued negotiations to lower trade barriers. He added, “We will likely see slower economic growth over the next six to 12 months.”
