Singapore Proposes Three-Way Partnership with Malaysia, Indonesia for Regional Economic Growth

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 25- Singapore is exploring a tripartite partnership with Malaysia and Indonesia to attract investors and businesses to the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ) and Indonesia’s Batam, Bintan, and Karimun (BBK) Islands.

Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister and Trade Minister Gan Kim Yong said he discussed potential collaboration areas with Malaysia’s Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Aziz and Indonesia’s Airlangga Hartarto.

Three-Way Partnership

He said the initiative revives the old “Sijori” concept, now expanded to jointly promote investments across the three regions.

The JS-SEZ, covering over 357,000 hectares, includes key growth areas like Iskandar Malaysia, Forest City, and Pengerang, while BBK remains a major investment hub for Singapore.
