Spanco MD claims trial to cheating charge

He allegedly induced the Finance Ministry to award Spanco a contract worth RM3.97 billion. The offense, under Section 420 of the Penal Code, occurred between Feb 27 and Feb 28, 2019. Spanco had secured a RM4.5 billion contract to procure and manage the government’s vehicle fleet for 15 years starting from 2022.

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) investigated the contract, recording statements from key witnesses, including a former finance minister.
