TotalEnergies Exits Singapore’s EV Charging Market After BlueSG Shutdown
TotalEnergies Charging Services Singapore will exit the electric vehicle charging market by Dec 31, following the sudden suspension of BlueSG’s point-to-point car-sharing operations. The company confirmed that it signed a termination agreement with the Land Transport Authority on Sep 30, citing a sharp drop in usage demand after BlueSG’s “strategic pause” in August.
TotalEnergies operated about 1,400 charging points across 350 HDB carparks and had served as BlueSG’s appointed charging partner. Its departure marks one of the largest shifts in Singapore’s public charging landscape in recent years.
SP Mobility will take over 63 sites comprising 250 charging points starting Nov 28, with full integration expected by Dec 19. LTA said existing operators will assume control of the chargers at no extra cost to ensure service continuity.
The transition highlights the interdependence between charging infrastructure and related mobility services as Singapore advances toward its 2030 EV charging targets.
