YTL Cement: New ECO Product Range with Lower Embodied Carbon

YTL Cement, Malaysia’s largest building materials group recently launched its ECO Product Range, certified with lower embodied carbon and recycled materials content, in response to the construction industry’s rising need for more environmentally friendly building solutions.

The ECO Product Range was unveiled at the recently concluded Sustainable Construction Symposium hosted by The Edge Media Group.

In his opening speech at the event, Dato’ Sri Michael Yeoh, Managing Director of YTL Cement says that the construction industry has been grappling with the complex challenge of maintaining financial performance while simultaneously improving ESG performance.

“Conversations around sustainability are gaining momentum, and there is a pressing need for all of us to step up. We recognise the finite nature of the resources we utilise in the construction sector, and as our industry expands, it becomes imperative that we prioritise sustainability in our operations.

“Hence, industry players must re-evaluate our actions, strategies, and objectives,” he added.

Recognising this urgency, YTL Cement has introduced Malaysia’s first ECO Product Range which consists of ECOCem, ECOConcrete, ECOSand, and ECODrymix.
