The Sarawak State Government, in collaboration with the Sarawak Multimedia Authority (SMA), proudly announces the commencement of the Digital Economy Awards 2023 (DEA2023). This event celebrates digital trailblazers propelling Sarawak’s dynamic and empowered future. Aligned with the vision of the International Digital Economy Conference Sarawak (IDECS), DEA2023 invites innovative ideas and solutions from Sarawakians to shine on the global stage.

A Driving Force for Innovation and Growth

Under the leadership of Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari Bin Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg, Premier of Sarawak, IDECS is propelling transformative change. This year, DEA2023 coincides with the 27th World Congress on Innovation & Technology (WCIT) 2023 and IDECS 2023, creating a unique platform for showcasing cutting-edge digital solutions.

Set in Kuching, Sarawak, from October 4th to 6th, 2023, WCIT|IDECS 2023 converges two influential events under themes of “Fulfilling the Promise of the Digital Age” and “Pioneering the Digital Economy.” This historic event bridges innovation, technology, and sustainability to explore limitless potential.

Recognizing Excellence in Digital Transformation

DEA2023 invites participation from public and private sectors, youth, businesses, innovators, and more. Categories include the prestigious Premier’s Digital Economy Award and eight others such as Digital Inclusivity, Entrepreneurship, and Digital Leadership. Submission deadline is September 25, 2023.

DEA2023 celebrates digital pioneers and their role in shaping a sustainable Sarawak. Notable awards include the Premier’s Digital Economy Award with RM20,000 prize, and category winners with RM10,000 each.
