Kedah Soars with RM45.8B in 2024 Investments, Leads Malaysia in Manufacturing
Kedah recorded RM45.8 billion in approved investments in 2024, a sharp rise from RM28.7 billion in 2023, with RM32.6 billion in manufacturing, surpassing Selangor and Penang. Collaboration with the NCIA realized RM15.26 billion from January to July 2024, creating 1,700 jobs. By early 2025, Kedah led in manufacturing investments with RM44.1 billion.
The KRC project is expected to attract RM10 billion by 2025, boosting the rubber-based industry. Fifty-eight international firms, particularly in energy and battery manufacturing, expressed interest, drawn by Kedah’s infrastructure and strategic location. Under Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor, the state’s focus on quality investments, education, and skills training solidifies its position as a top investment hub with strong growth potential.
