Transport Minister Anthony Loke announced that the LRT3 project now costs RM21.93 billion—still RM9.72 billion less than its original 2015 estimate of RM31.65 billion. Despite reinstating five stations, seven trains, and other upgrades in 2024 (adding RM5.3 billion), the project remains under budget due to a 2018 restructuring. As of July 10, construction is 99.21% complete. Loke attributed previous delays to the Covid-19 pandemic, which disrupted labour availability and supply chains. He was responding to a question from Permatang Pauh MP Muhammad Fawwaz Mohamad Jan.Cover Photo: Reddit
