MACC Seizes RM2.2 Million Luxury Assets from Second Wife of Former Army Chief in East Coast Raid
The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) conducted a raid this morning on a residence on the East Coast, believed to belong to the second wife of a former top Army officer, seizing luxury assets valued at over RM2.2 million. Sources said two suitcases were recovered, containing 23 Rolex watches of various models worth approximately RM2 million, along with jewellery estimated at RM225,000 believed to belong to an associate.
MACC Investigation Division senior director Datuk Zainul Darus confirmed the seizure. The action follows the remand of the former Army chief and his two wives since January 8 in connection with alleged corruption in army procurement tenders. Earlier, MACC had seized assets worth RM6.9 million, including gold bars, a luxury SUV, and foreign currency cash. Investigations also extended to the Ministry of Defence on December 23.
